New Season

I Haven't Blogged for a while due to finding it hard to get anything done on my allotment when i was either battling serious rain or snow.
Anyway i have started the year with determination.
I have purchased some step over apple tree's from a good supplier (very cheap also) from Ebay called Branchnurseries.
They offered advice on the best variety for my area and also re-sent the trees promptly when the first ones got damaged by the courier.
these i will plant in about a month once the soil is beginning to warm, I've potted them for now and tied them to canes.

On visiting the plot today for a short visit i took a picture of my Garlic as it seems like that's all i have growing for the moment. the large ones are new and seem to be doing better than my older variety.

Then i pruned my grape vines in a double guyot system which is apparently the best way for wine grapes.
Only time will tell.
I have put up before and after pics of this.
the two whit grape varieties were not as vigorous so don't look as healthy but this year will sort that out.
my two red grape variety are doing exceptionally well and i expect my first grape crop from them.
i have two other white vines which i am training into a pergola (which i have to build yet).

In about 3 weeks ill start my seeds off in the conservatory, i have just cleaned and get ready my heated propagator so am all ready but want to get a little more light in the days.
