Well i am a little late with this as most of what i am about to put on here was last Monday.
I took a day off and managed to get loads done.
I planted out peas and covered with fleece to protect from, mostly birds and mice.
I had already hardened off my broadbeans so they went out against a nice frame of canes which Monty Don showed in the last gardeners world show.
It was quite impressive with the vertical and horizontal supports i could nearly swing on it.
Last year i had several wind blown down issues so i will stick to this design from now on.
Then i planted out my comfrey seedlings so i have a good collection of this to make my own plant feed next year.
My Grape vines were bent in the single guyut position so this was quite daunting as they make a right creak when bending them over.
Cant wait to see if i get grapes this year.
My next task was to get my rosemary cuttings out and i was very impressed they had rooted so well they were busting out of the pots.
Also last week i harvested some purple sprouting broccoli and when i got home i par boiled it and froze most of it, the rest i have with my evening meal, very tasty too.
This week i have just potted on my chilies i got from Rhodes, Greece and my 3 cape gooseberry's.
then i potted on some very small rocket.
I have decided i will put all the salads out in a couple of weeks under glass in my new salad bed.
next i planed out my mixed Daisy and fed them well (these will make great cut flowers for home).
oh and i slug pelleted everywhere.
my 3 sunflowers went out due to them keep drying out, they were not hardened off but i am worried they will die if they don't get the rain.
Also i managed to attach my new (freeby from the next plot owner Eddie) water barrels, that makes 5 from the shed, i really need to sort the greenhouse one.
And finally i brought home my hanging basket.
oh one last thing, my sweetcorn has all sprouted so i am over the moon with them, lets hope i get a better result growing them this year.
